Happy Monday!
I have been a busy bee, working on lots of different projects at once. One space is in our kitchen, which has been sort of problematic, given that we have three kids and an uber-busy schedule. I am in dire need of a "command center" to keep track of where/when everyone needs to be at their respective locations.
One thing I think is going to help is the chalkboard wall that I added. It should at least be helpful in jotting down reminders or notes. It's not a "wall" in the general sense of the word, more of a slice of a wall, but it's already being put to good use.
Here's where it began:
Nevermind that I'm using vinegar and water to take this wallpaper down. So, I smell like I've been coloring Easter eggs. I started out trying to take it down by using fabric softener and water. I really wish that had been more effective. At least I would have smelled April Fresh.
But, I'm making progress.
It gets worse before it gets better, right?
So, plenty of things to keep me busy. Looking forward to sharing it all with you!

I totally feel you pain with the wallpaper removal.. but it is absolutely worth it! Except I ended up putting more wallpaper up:) That is a super cool place for a chalkboard wall!
ReplyDeleteI have tons of unfinished projects. One of my goals this year was to focus on finishing them.
ReplyDeleteDo you mind if I ask what color paint you have in your bedroom? I am considering blues for our remodel in there.
Love the chalkboard wall. Can't wait to see how your bathroom turns out.
ReplyDeleteWow what a difference taking that wallpaper off makes.
ReplyDeleteI know it can be a pain.
P.S.
i was wondering what color is in your bedroom too
I love the chalboard wall! Thanks for sharing! I am n=your newest follower!
ReplyDeleteWhat I like is that blue room peeking out from the brown hallway. . very nice.
ReplyDeleteI had to check in on you...I feel like I have been gone forever! Only a week, but it feels like a yr. WOW, look at that chalkboard wall! I like that it is only the corner part! Very creative and original....Good luck with that wall paper! "Spinning plates", great phrase!!! Now I need to go check out all the other great projects you tackled last week!
ReplyDeleteThree cheers for Freedom from Wallpaper! Argyle wallpaper! Yeah!
ReplyDeletewallpaper IS awful!! Love that chalkboard wall. Great spot for it!
ReplyDeleteI despise removing wallpaper. I took it down in our powder room after I grew tired of it and for some reason those walls weren't sized before the paper went up so a lot of the drywall came off with the paper leaving a lot of imperfections in the walls. Now I am hoping my husband will add beadboard in there some day. You are doing an excellent job and I love the chalkboard wall.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like the prefect place for a little chalk board paint - and the perfect season too :)
ReplyDeleteI remember taking wallpaper down over 10 years ago and actually buying this nasty spray stuff. Thinking that I'm super woman, I, of course, didn't wear a mask or ventilate the area. I ended up with this horrible respiratory infection for weeks. I wish I then what I know now. vinegar is way cheaper and healthier!! and I love pickles so you can sit next ot me.

Very cool idea to add the chalkboard. I've pondering the idea of adding something upstairs for the kiddos to play around, just looking for the right spot. I know how you feel, so many ideas and projects in a half done state can leave your mind cluttered! I know better that to do that to myself so why do I keep doing it? ha ha Have a great weekend :D
